Explorer Options

 

This submenu (available in the Options menu) enables to set various options for the embedded File Explorer in SPLOT:

 

View options:

•Large Icons, Small Icons, List or Details - to change the appearance of items in a folder.
•Toolbar - to show or hide the toolbar in explorer.
•Folder Tree - to show or hide the folder tree in explorer.
•Folder Box - to show or hide the folder box in explorer.
•Virtual Folders - to enable or disable the Virtual Folders feature.

 

Sort options - select here how to sort the items in a folder. This can be done also by clicking the corresponding header item in the list view.

 

Show Folders options - defines if (and how) the folders will be displayed also in the list view.

•Auto - if checked then the folders will be displayed in the list view only if the folder tree view will be hidden.
•Always - always show folders in the list view.
•Never - never show folders in the list view.
•Before Files - if checked, then all folders in the list view will be shown before files.
•Include links - if checked, then links (shortcuts) to folders will be displayed and sorted as real folders, i.e. before or after files, although links are just files, not real folders.

 

Single click to open - if checked then a single click is sufficient to open a file.

 

Show only plot files - if checked, then list view shows only plot files (as they are defined by the masks in the Preferences dialog). Otherwise all files are shown.

 

Show also shortcuts - show and use also links (shortcuts) to the files.

 

Open only plot files - if checked, then only plot files (as they are defined by the masks in the Preferences dialog) are opened by SPLOT via the file explorer. Other files are opened (run) by system. It is not recommended to uncheck this option.

 

Auto synchronize - if checked, then the file explorer automatically synchronizes with the just opened file. The synchronization means, that the file explorer switches to the folder in which the file resides and marks the file in the list view as selected.

 

Auto expand - if checked, then each selected item (folder) in the folder tree view is automatically expanded to show all child items (folders). If the selection is canceled without accessing a child item, then the previous automatic expansion is also canceled.

 

Show always selection - if checked, then any selection(s) in the file explorer (i.e. selected item(s) in the list and tree view) is permanently visible even if a corresponding view has not focus.
