Default extension for printing to file

If the Print to File check box is checked you can type here a default extension used for the output files (standard extension is PRN). This is useful namely in situations where the printer driver produces a format for which is well-established some file extension (e.g. PDF extension for Adobe Portable Document format, PS for PostScript format, HPG for HP-GL format etc.).

This default extension is stored individually for each printer driver so this option is not available when the Save and reuse print setup option is disabled in the Preferences dialog.

Notice: Some printer drivers do not allow to use this option, i.e. they always open its own File Save dialog and so they ignore output file instructed by the calling application (i.e. SPLOT).
